Meet the team

Sandra Winterbottom

Sandra is the Principal of In Control Physiotherapy, and has been servicing the St Marys, Mt Druitt and Penrith districts since 1997, and working as a private practitioner since 1991. She completed a Bachelors degree in 1989 and a Masters in Orthopaedic  Manipulative therapy in 1999, which allows her to focus on advanced diagnostic and treatment skills, including manipulation where appropriate.

Sandra has a special interest in spinal pain and overuse injuries, and works closely with local dentists to achieve solutions for sufferers of TMJ (jaw) pain and headaches. She has additionally undertaken studies with the Watson Headache Institute and relishes the challenge of long term headache sufferers.

Over the years, Sandra has also developed an extensive sports background, working with soccer, league and AFL teams, dancers, netballers, hockey players, swimmers and athletes. These days, Sandra largely spends her time running the business and mentoring her staff.

Outside of work, Sandra spends her time supporting her beloved Parramatta Eels and spending time with her husband and teenage daughters.

Rajeev Prasad

Raj has worked in private practice since 2004.  He graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2003, and spent the next few years working in Auckland.  He moved to Melbourne in 2006, then to Perth in 2007.  While in Perth, Raj completed a Master of Manipulative Therapy degree at Curtin University of Technology, and worked in private practice simultaneously.  He has completed courses in Clinical Pilates, Dry Needling, exercise-based rehabilitation and manual therapy.

Raj has experience working with many sports teams and athletes, and has been trusted with the care of rugby union and league teams, soccer players, wheelchair sports teams, gymnasts and track and field athletes.  He has a particular interest in low back and neck pain, and shoulder dysfunction.  Raj uses a range of manual therapy techniques including massage, mobilisation and manipulation, and is dedicated to using exercise as a rehabilitation tool. As our senior clinical physio, Raj also spends time mentoring the team.

Raj is a resident of Blacktown, and is actively involved in his children’s sports activities, including rugby, swimming and athletics.

Judy Kennedy

Judy has graduated from Wester Sydney University with a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy and will be joining the In Control Physiotherapy team this year. Prior to joining the In Control team, Judy has gained experience working in various hospitals throughout NSW with a variety of patients throughout the different areas of physiotherapy. 

Furthermore, Judy has a keen interest in volunteering abroad, and has previously travelled to Nepal to assist as a physiotherapist within a disability centre. 

Judy also has had experience doing sports coverage for Netball tournaments.
Outside of work, Judy loves spending time playing different sports such as tennis, badminton & netball socially with friends or engaging/dancing in cultural programs and events.

Sachini Liyanage

Sachini (Sach) is our New Graduate Physiotherapist and has graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy and also has a Bachelor of Medical Science from the University of New South Wales. Sach comes to us with a wide experience she gained during her placements in hospitals and private practice across NSW. Sach has interests in broadening her clinical expertise across all musculoskeletal areas and has a particular interest in Women’s Health.

Outside of work, Sach enjoys her recreational activities in the great outdoors such as indoor rock climbing, hiking and has recently started kayaking. She also enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle by playing tennis and regularly going to the gym.

Kathy Keith

Kathy is part of the admin team that keep this ship running. They ensures that the team runs on time, their treatment diaries are smooth, and their treatment cubicles are tidy! 
They are the lovely voices on the phone and faces you will see at the front desk, and will help you with bookings and payments and anything else you need to make your experience comfortable and relaxed. 

Kathy enjoys performing as a flautist with her local church band.

Jessa Laguna

Jessa is currently studying at Australian Catholic University, working towards a career in education.
